PURPOSE:To enable immediate finding of an operation for correcting an image- forming range to within image-forming limits, by a method wherein when it is discriminated that image-forming limits in X- and Y-axis directions are exceeded, the condition is displayed. CONSTITUTION:With a ball-point pen 46 positioned at a pen starting point P and with a code key 126 and a start key/space key 106 operated after reading of image-forming data is completed, X- and Y-direction image-formable ranges Xmax, Ymax and scheduled image-forming ranges X, Y are calculated, and it is discriminated whether or not X>Xmax and whether or not Y>Ymax. When both of discrimination results are NO, both of the ranges X, Y are on the inside of margins, the pen 46 is started moving from the point P, thereby drawing a graph. Where X>Xmax and/or Y>Ymax, a message of margin-over is displayed, and a rightward arrow and/or an upward arrow is displayed on a liquid crystal display 136.
