PURPOSE:To enable mounting of a device to a small-sized automatic welding machine by making the device smaller in size and lighter in weight. CONSTITUTION:A titled device is constituted of two pieces of photodetectors 1, 1' disposed to be positioned laterally symmetrically with respect to a welding torch 26, two sets of control circuits 14, 14' consisting of amplifiers 7, 8 which amplify the outputs from light receiving elements 2, 2', 3, 3', comparators 8, 10 which compare the outputs from the amplifiers and the set voltages outputted from reference voltage setters 11, 12 and output digital signals and operational amplifiers 13, 13' which operate the digital signals from a pair of comparators and output the control signals for position as well as a mechanism 15 for moving the welding torch which moves laterally the position of the welding torch by the output from one amplifier 13 and a mechanism 16 for adjusting the spacing between the detectors which adjusts the spacing between the two detectors by the output from the remaining one amplifier 13'. |
