NEW MATERIAL:Obelmycin A-G expressed by formula I (R1 is H or expressed by formula II-IV; R2 is OH or expressed by formula II-IV, provided that R2 is expressed by formula II-IV when R1 is H, and R1 is expressed by formula II when R2 is OH) having the following physico-chemical properties (in the case of obelmycin A); Appearance; Violet powder. Melting point; 191-194 deg.C (decomposition). Molecular weight; 559. Specific rotatory power [alpha]<23>D+682 deg. (C=0.004, chloroform). USE:A carcinostatic agent. PREPARATION:Streptomyces violaceus A262 SE2-2385 strain (FERM-P No.8165) is cultivated with aeration, preferably at 28 deg.C and 6-7pH for 6 days, and the aimed substance is extracted from the resultant fermenation filtrate with an organic solvent, e.g. chloroform, at 7-9pH and with the organic solvent, e.g. acetone, from the microbial cells. |
