PURPOSE:To improve yield by alternately fitting light-emitting diode elements zigzag by being separating only by distances of integral times pitches in the vertical direction on both sides of a light-emitting diode element at the center. CONSTITUTION:Light-emitting diode elements 15, 16, 15, 16... are alternately mounted zigzag while being separated only by distances the same as pitches P in the direction vertical to the row l1 of light-emitting diode elements 12, 12... at central sections on both sides of the elements 12, 12... at the central sections. According to such constitution, when the light-emitting diode element 12 in the row l1 at the center is defective and the amount of light emitted is extremely little, the light-emitting diode elements 15, 16 on a straight line l2 or l3 are used in place of the light-emitting diode element 12, thus allowing the employment of a light-emitting diode array chip 11. Consequently, the yield of the light-emitting diode array chips can be improved largely. |
