PURPOSE:To make stable accuracy in positioning a track irrespective of a change in temperature and humidity and to attain a correct and high density recording reproduction by disposing a virtual line connecting the fixed point of a carriage and a driving belt with the recording reproducing point of a magnetic head and the shaft center point of a driving shaft driving the driving belt at a prescribed position. CONSTITUTION:The virtual line connecting the innermost peripheral position E of the track of a magnetic disk 15 with the fixed point F of the carriage 13 of the driving belt 16 is disposed in parallel with the tangential direction of the disk 15. The driving center point I of a driving pulley 18 is disposed at an intermediate position in radial direction of the center point H of the rotation of the disk 15 and the point E. The dimension from H to E is set to J, the dimension between H and I to K, the dimension between I and F to L and a substrate attaching dimension between H and I to M. The change in the M dimension by the expansion and contruction of a material due to a change in an atmosphere temperature scarcely gives influence to a recording reproduction. The relation among the J, K, L dimensions is constituted in such a manner that the amount of the expansion and contruction of the disk 15 is canceled as a sum with the amount of the expansion and contruction of the driving belt 16 composed of a stainless.
