PURPOSE:To reduce the attenuation of a signal during reproduction by connecting two reproducing heads to primary sides of two rotary transformers and looping the two reproducing heads and two recording heads in series. CONSTITUTION:While a recording head 1 or 2 contacts a tape, a switch 10 is on and switches 11 and 12 are off; and a recording signal from a recording amplifier 7 is supplied to heads 1-4 through the rotary transformers 5 and 6, so that they are recorded by the recording head 1 or 2 contacting the tape. Then while a reproducing head 3 or 4 contacts the tape, the switch 10 is on and the switches 11 and 12 are off; and a reproducing signal from the reproducing head 3 or 4 is supplied to reproducing amplifiers 8 and 9 through the rotary transformers 5 and 6, so that the reproducing signal of the reproducing head contacting the tape is outputted through a switch 13. Consequently, the attenuation of the output of the reproducing signal is reduced.
