The receiver comprises (a) a memory which can store a number of messages; (b) a display which has a number of display digits; (c) a counter which counts the number of the messages; (d) and a control section, including a microprocessor, which displays the receied message on the display. The control section displays the contents of the counter on the display and counts down the counter every time the received message is notified. If the receipt of the new message results in overflow of the memory, the reciever concurrently displays the earlier received message and displays the indication of memory overflow. |
