PURPOSE:To execute a connection change to different kinds of magnetic recording devices without changing a system program at all, by providing a conversion table for converting a signal of an address, a command, etc. sent from a system body to a signal of an address, a command, etc. conforming with the magnetic recording device, in a storage device. CONSTITUTION:A converting circuit 5 is provided between a system body 1 and a command decoder 2 connected to an FDD4, and a memory M and an operation processor CPU are provided on the converting circuit 5. Also, a conversion table for address conversion and command conversion is provided on the memory M, so that conversion control is executed by a central processor CPU. In this way, a connection change can be executed to different kinds of magnetic recording devices without exerting an influence on the system body.
