PURPOSE:To improve the spreadability of a photosensitive layer closer to an electrically conductive substrate and the dispersibility of a substance in the layer by incorporating polyvinyl formal resin into the layer. CONSTITUTION:A charge generating substance is dispersed in a soln. of a binder contg. polyvinyl formal resin, and the resulting dispersion is applied to an electrically conductive substrate to form a charge generating layer. Any solvent which dissolves polyvinyl formal resin may be used as a solvent for the binder. For example, tetrahydrofuran, 1,2-dichloroethane or dioxane is used. The amount of the binder is 50-100wt% of the amount of the charge generating substance. Thus, a charge generating layer contg. a well-dispersed charge generating substance and having high spreadability is obtd. |
