PURPOSE:To obtain high performance in a high yield by using polyvinyl formal resin as the material of an underlayer and forming a layer contg. an azo pigment as a photosensitive layer. CONSTITUTION:Polyvinyl formal resin is dissolved in a solvent, and the resulting soln. is applied to an electrically conductive substrate to form an underlayer of a prescribed thickness. A photosensitive layer contg. an azo pigment is formed on the underlayer. The photosensitive layer may be composed of layers having separated functions, that is, a charge generating layer and a charge transferring layer, and a surface protective layer may be formed on the photosensitive layer. When the photosensitive layer is composed of the two layers, the azo pigment is used in the charge generating layer. Thus, electrophotographic sensitive bodies having stable performance are obtd. in a high yield. |
