PURPOSE:To improve picture quality right after the start of copying operation by storing a nonmagnetic developer in the 2nd storage part without contacting any magnetic particles and storing a mixture of a nonmagnetic developer having more flowability and magnetic particles in the 1st storage part. CONSTITUTION:When magnetic particles 27 are thrown in a developer supply container 21 from a magnetic particles storage part 52 firstly, the particles 27 are attracted to the surface of a sleeve 22 by a magnet 23 to form the 1st layer. Then when the nonmagnetic developer 28 is thrown in the container 21 from the developer storage part 53, the 2nd layer is formed on the 1st layer. The sleeve 22 is rotated as shown by an arrow (b) to supply the developer 28 to a magnetic brush 27a which circulates as shown by an arrow (c) and the developer is charged electrostatically to form a uniform thin layer 28a on the surface of the sleeve. Then, a latent image is developed successively by a developing part 32. the developer which is made less in flowability than the developer 28 in the 2nd layer is mixed with the particles 27 forming the 1st layer to take a copy. Consequently, when an unused device is used for the 1st time, ground fogging and a scatter of lines are prevented from occurring right after the start of copying operation. |
