PURPOSE:To obtain the titled material having improved film characteristics of the hydrophilic colloidal layer by incorporating a copolymer latex composed of a monomer contg. a specific sulfonic acid group or its salt and an another monomer to the hydrophilic colloidal layer. CONSTITUTION:The titled material is prepared by incorporating the copolymer latex composed of a monomer shown by the formula wherein R1 is H or CH3 group, R2 and R3 are each H, 1-20C alkyl or an aryl group, a total carbon number of R2 and R3 groups is >=3, M is a cation such as an alkaline metal ion and an ammonium ion, and an another ethylenic monomer such as (meth) acrylate and a glycidyl methacrylate etc. to the hydrophilic colloidal layer such as a silver halide emulsion layer. By constituting the titled material as mentioned above, the titled material having improved film characteristics such as a devitrification phenomenon, a dimensional stability and a scratch strength etc., without affecting the photographic characteristics, is obtd. |
