PURPOSE:To simplify the control action in accordance with a change of length specification in a bar material to be fed, by providing an encoder in a driving part for a feed rod to be connected with a counter, timer, etc. as the safety stopper of an automatic bar material supply machine. CONSTITUTION:If a bar material 3 arrives at a cut position A, a supply machine 1, rotating a spindle 4, cuts an unnecessary point end part of the material by a tool 5. For feeding said bar material 3, the machine, inserting the rear end of the bar material 3 into a finger chuck 7, drives a chain 8. And the machine, in which a fixed time inhibiting generation of movement of a feed rod 6 is set by a timer through an encoder 20 mounted to a sprocket shaft 18 and a counter, stops operation of the supply machine 1 and a cutting machine 2 when a moving distance L is generated within said fixed time. This method can change length specification of the bar material 3 to be fed easily only by controlling the counter. |
