PURPOSE:To make possible the reduction of a cost and the provision of the more uniform performance by attaching a light emitting element to one end of an optical fiber attached to a base plate, dividing the other end thereof to two pieces and coating a ferromagnetic material to the outside circumferences of the divided respective optical fibers. CONSTITUTION:The light from a light emitting element 4 is conducted via a plane waveguide 2 to the optical fibers 1A, 1B. Photoelectric converters 7A, 7B are provided to an arm 11B so as to face the aperture ends of the fibers 1A and 1B. The light from the aperture end is equally projected to respectively four pieces of photodetectors while both fibers 1A and 1B do not oscillate. On the other hand, the fibers 1A, 1B are deformed vertically in parallel with each other and in the directions opposite from each other by Coriolis force Fc when the angular speed OMEGA is inputted thereto. The optical axes of the fibers 1A, 1B are displaced both in the same direction when the acceleration is exerted thereto. The displacement directions of the light spots from the fibers 1A, 1B formed on the quadrisected photodetectors vary with the angular speed input and acceleration input in the above-mentioned manner and therefore only the angular speed is detected by utilizing the same.
|
