Polarizing film is manufactured from a hydrophobic substrate resin, e.g., polyolefin, polyester, or polyamide, and a light dual -color organic dye element by roll elongation under the condition (d x L)/(D x l) >= 0.5; where D=actual thickness of unelongated film; L-actual length of unelongated film to the vertical direction of the elongation; d=thickness of elongated film; and l= length of elongated film. The product has X-ray diffraction properties f >= 0.7 and (fxR) >= 0.1; where f=single-axis orientation coefficient; and R=ratio of the max. diffraction intensity to the min. diffraction intensity.
