PURPOSE:To obtain a material for the titled roll having improved heat and oxidation resistances and prolonging considerably the life of the roll by limiting a composition consisting of Cr, Co, W, Ti, Al, O, N, C, Mn, Si, P, S and Ni. CONSTITUTION:This material for a roll used in a continuous casting equipment consists of, by weight, 14-25% Cr, 5-25% Co, 0.1-7.0% W, 0.1-3.0% Ti, 0.1-3.0% Al (Ti+Al<=4.0%), <=0.01% O, <=0.03% N, <=0.065% C, <=1.0% Mn, <=0.5% Si, <=0.03% P, <=0.03% S and the balance Ni with inevitable impurities. The material has much superior heat and oxidation resistances and facilitates continuous casting operation at a high temp. and direct rolling. The material prolongs considerably the life of the roll and makes the maintenance of the roll unnecessary.
