PURPOSE:To obtain a material for prepg. mineral water capable of reducing residual chlorine more effectively when immersed in city water preventing also proliferation of general bacteria by mixing particles of crushed gold or silver ore with a specified proportion of particles of corallite prepd. by washing corallite with water, calcining and crushing. CONSTITUTION:10-60wt% particles of crushed gold or silver ore is mixed with 90-40wt% particles of corallite which is obtd. by washing corallite with water, calcining and crushing. A material for prepg. mineral water obtd. by this process can reduce residual chlorine content effectively when it is immersed in city water. When the proportion of particles of crushed gold or silver ore is higher, the quicker and the more durable effect for reducing the residual chlorine content are exhibited. Mineral water is obtd. when the material is immersed in city water and Ca ion, Mg ion, etc. are allowed to contain by elution. Even if the residual chlorine content is reduced to below the limit regulated by the water standard, proliferation of general bacteria is prevented by the sterilizing effect of silver.
