PURPOSE:To improve transparency and low-temperature impact strength while retaining excellent mechanical and chemical properties inherent to a polyamide resin, by blending a metal salt and a quaternary ammonium salt with a polyamide resin. CONSTITUTION:0.01-50pts.wt. metal salt of the formula MXn [wherein M is a mono- to trivalent metal cation; X is a monovalent halogen or pseudo- halogen; the combination of M and X is selected from those satisfying formula I {wherein A is Madelung constant; n is the valence of the metal cation; N is an exponent of Bone; r+ is the ionic radius (pm) of M in MXn crystal; r- is the ionic radius (pm) of X in MXn crystal}] and 0.1-50pts.wt. quaternary ammonium salt comp.d of formula II (wherein R1, R2, R3, R4 are each H, alkyl, an unsaturated aliph. group, an arom. group and at least one thereof has a difference of 6-18C; Y is an anion capable of formula a monobasic acid) are blended with 100pts.wt. polyamide. An example of the metal salt of MXn is LiCl and an example of the quaternary ammonium salt compd. is hexyltrimethylammonium chloride. |
