PURPOSE:To enable either nip pressure or the amount of a gap to be suitably set quickly depending on the thickness of a leaf when the leaf is fed by moving up and down a conveyor roller or an edge member step by step by means of electromagnets or a controlling motor. CONSTITUTION:A conveyor roller 2 is provided at the lower end of a sliding shaft 11 which moves up and down, and an operating arm 13 is installed on its upper end so as to be placed between electromagnets 14 and 15. This operating arm 13 moves to either the electromagnet 14 side or the magnet 15 side depending on the thickness of a leaf. Accordingly, the conveyor roller 2 also moves up and down accompanied with the movement of the operating arm 13 for adjusting a gap between the roller and a curved surface base table 1 preventing the leaf from being fed while it is overlapped. Furthermore, an edge member 9 may be used to move up and down for adjusting the gap in place of the conveyor roller 2. Besides, means by a motor or others may be used as a mean for moving either the conveyor roller 2 or the edge member 9 up and down.
