PURPOSE:To maintain the degree of conversion and the reliability of a catalyst by impregnating a porous cylindrical carrier in a soln. contg. a noble metal being a catalytic component and thereafter interpolating a linear or a rodlike heating element in a central part of the cylindrical catalytic carrier. CONSTITUTION:A linear or a rodlike heating element 7 is inserted in a central part of a porous cylindrical catalytic carrier 8 impregnated with a soln. contg. a noble metal being a catalyst. The catalyst is molded by heating and drying the catalytic carrier 8 from an inside wall part and performing the baking. The impregnated metallic salt soln. is started to evaporate from the inside wall surface with the radiation heat because this catalyst is heated from the inside wall surface. Therefore since the soln. of the inside is transferred to the inside wall part with the capillarity and the temp. of the whole catalytic carriers is risen with the heat conduction, the evaporation from the outside wall part is caused. As a result, the catlytic concn. of the inside wall part and the outside wall part is almost made equal.
