PURPOSE:Water is added to centrifugation sludge from liquefied product and the resultant solution is subjected to ultrafiltration together with the ultrafiltration residue from the centrifuged liquefied solution whereby the recovery of liquefaction product is improved and the enzyme of high activity is recovered. CONSTITUTION:Liquefaction product resulting from saccharification of cellulose with cellulase is sent from the tank 2 to the centrifuge 3. The separated solution is sent to the storage tank 4, while the sludge is stored in tank 7. The solution in the tank 4 is subjected to ultrafiltration 5 and the filtrate is sent to the storage tank 6, while the precipitate is returned back to the storage tank 4. An appropriate amount of soft water is added to the sludge in the tank 7, they are mixed by stirring, then sent to the centrifuge 3, then the separated solution is sent to the tank 4, while the sludge is discarded. The mixture of the precipitate and separated solution is sent to the ultrafiltration unit 5 and the filtrate is sent to the tank 6, while the precipitate is sent to the tank 4 where the enzyme is recovered for reuse.
