MANUFACTURE OF PLAIN BEARING

摘要

PURPOSE:To enhance the adhesion of an overlaid layer to the bearing surface of a bearing alloy when the bearing surface is plated with a soft alloy having a low m.p. to manufacture a plain bearing, by implanting ions into the bearing surface to form an ion implanted layer before plating. CONSTITUTION:A bearing alloy is adhered to a backing strip of the required size and shape by a conventional method. The alloy is mechanically worked to the required size, degreased and washed. Ions of a metal such as Ni, Cu or Sn are then implanted into the bearing surface by a conventional method, and a soft alloy having a low m.p. such as a Pb-Sn alloy is overlaid to the required thickness by electroplating or other method.
