An insulating millboard comprises three compsn. (by wt.%) (1) 22 Al2O3, 55 SiO2, 4 oxidized steel, 0.8 TiO2, 0.9 MgO, 10 CaO and 2.3 synthetic alkali, (2) 5-25 glass fiber, 3-5 organic fiber, 45-65 ball clay, 0-20 bentonite, 10-20 CaCO3, 0-15 phyrophyllite, 10-18 natrium silicate, 5-10 starch, and 0-15 colloid silica, and (3) 5 glass fiber of 0.318cm, 5 glass fiber of 0.64cm, 3 polyethylene, 5 bentonite, 47 ball clay, 10 natrium silicate, 20 CaCO3, and 5 starch. The above millboard is free of shot.
