PURPOSE:To transfer a data of an IC card simply and accurately by using a shutter function made of a crystal. CONSTITUTION:When the IC card 10 is loaded to a prescribed position of a card reader 20, the card reader 20 starts operation and the light from the light source 21 is projected to a liquid crystal dot matrix 10a mounted on the IC card 10. In this case, since the liquid crystal dot matrix 10a has a characteristic transmitting only a specific polarized light only the light component having a polarized plane is transmitted, enters a photo cell array 22, and the other light are all shut. Then the transmitted light component is converted into an electric signal by a photoelectric converting circuit 23 and transferred as a data.
