PURPOSE:To increase volume efficiency, leakage resistance, and vibration resistance of a battery by bending inward the opening of the second cylindrical part through a gasket to fixing a sealing cover to the opening, then shrinking the second cylindrical part. CONSTITUTION:A cathode plate 6 and an anode plate 4 are spirally wound with a separator 8 interposed to form an electrode unit 9. The electrode unit 9 is accommodated into the first cylindrical part 3, and an anode lead 10 is welded to the inside of the bottom of a battery container 1, and a cathode lead is welded to a sealing cover 12, and electrolyte is poured in the container. The sealing cover 12 comprising a cathode terminal 14, a vent 15, and a sealing plate 16 is placed inside the second cylindrical part 4 through a gasket 13 having larger diameter than the inner diameter of the first cylindrical part 3, which is inserted inside s step 5. The opening of the battery container 1 is bent inward with a press mold to seal a battery. The battery 18 is inserted into a cylindrical die D having an inner diameter B, and pushed out with a punch P having a small diameter than the diameter B to shrink the second cylindrical part 4 and a battery 19 is obtained. |
