PURPOSE:To rapidly and accurately execute a recognition with reducing the burden of an user by providing a means that stores a low order information when the low order information is existed solitarily corresponding with a high order information and corresponding it to the high order information. CONSTITUTION:An address decision part 19 reads the specified name index within the area of a place name 3 supplied from a recognition part 17 from an address dictionary 20 and reads the specified name in order form the address of a specified name dictionary 21 until an end mark is read and the decision part 19 compares a recipient name 5 from the recognition part 17 with the specified name being read from the dictionary 21 and decides whether they are equal or not. When a recipient name is coincided with the specified name by the decision, an address information 1 is recognized and the result of the recognition is outputted as a segmentation information at the latter stage. Also when the specified name is not decided, the place name of the second block is recognized by the recognition part 17 and the specified name is decided by reading the specified name index within the area recognized in the second block.
