PURPOSE:To obtain a field still and slow of a respective systems by using combination heads for PAL and for NTSC one by one, or by adding a delay circuit to one of the combination heads. CONSTITUTION:During an ordinary picture recording and reproducing, signals from an R azimuth head 1a and an L azimuth head 1b are amplified, and changed over to output the signal. During a still time of an NTSC system, the R azimuth head 1a and an R azimuth head 1c are changed over at a HEAD1 jSW section to realize a field still. During a still time of a PAL.SECAM system, the L azimuth head 1b and an L azimuth head 1d are changed over at a HEAD1 kSW section to realize the field still. By using a cylinder having combination heads for the PAL system and for the NTSC system, the field still of many systems can be realized without adding a 90 deg. shifter circuit.
