PURPOSE:To perfectly prevent interference fringes at the time of image formation, by forming a light accepting layer of multilayer structure having a pair of nonparallel interfaces or more in a short range, and arranging a large number of said interfaces in one direction in a plane perpendicular to the layer thickness direction. CONSTITUTION:A light accepting layer 1000 is composed, from a backing body 1001 side, of 2-layer structure of the first layer 1002 made of a-Si contg. Ge, and when needed, H and/or halogen, and the second photoconductive layer 1003 made of a-Si contg., when needed, H and/or halogen, and Ge is distributed nonuniformly in the layer thickness direction. The layer thickness of the second layer 602 changes continuously from d5 to d6, the interface 603 is not parallel to the interface 604, and since the reflected light R1 of the incident light I0 is different in the advancing direction from the emitted light R3, a degree of interference decreases. As a result, the difference between the light parts and dark parts in the interference fringes becomes negligibly small, and the incident light intensity in a small part l is averaged. |
