PURPOSE:To ensure a mildew proofing of the titled instrument, without affecting an adverse influence to the optical instrument by forming a resinous material contg. or enclosing a volatile mildew proofing agent, thereby making an inner space of the titled instrument to a mildew proofing atmosphere with slowly vaporizing the mildew proofing agent. CONSTITUTION:The resin contd. or enclosed the volatile mildew-proofing agent is formed so as to make the inner space of the titled instrument to the mildew proofing atmosphere due to slowly vaporizing the mildew proofing agent. The resin is composed of a thermoplastic resin such as PE, PP and an acrylic type resin etc. itself or a blend thereof, a thermosetting resin such as a phenolic resin, an urea resin etc. a natural or a synthetic gum itself or a blend thereof. The mildew proofing agent is added, mixed or kneaded before or after molding the thermoplastic resin. In the thermo setting resin or a kind of gum, the agent may be added before molding and curing the resin, or the agent may be impregnated to the resin after molding the resin. The volatile mildew proofing agent is preferable to be a low vapor pressure, and has a long duration of an effect, and does not affect an adverse influence to the film and is chemically stable. By constituting as mentioned above, the generation of the mold in the optical instrument can be surely, safely and inexpensively prevented.
