A device for reducing the waste gas emission from oxidation reactors (furnace installations) which are operated with an underfeed stoker grate, is characterised in that both a multi-stage air supply (3 to 5) to the reactor bed (6 to 8) and/or to the downstream afterburner chamber (17) is effected and an impact radiant cover (14) as a flow and turbulence generator in the afterburner chamber (17) for intensive mixing, and multiple means for dust precipitation and recirculation into or over the reactor bed are built into the gas duct in the manner of deflection precipitators (20), and in the afterburner chamber. <IMAGE>
