PURPOSE:To make it possible to exclude hysteresis characteristic of discharge quantity control, by forming teeth for being driven, on a control member which varies the compression starting position of the suction port of a vane type compressor, and driving this control member directly by a driving means. CONSTITUTION:A control member 19 which varies the compression starting position of the suction port of a vane type compressor, is set at this suction port of the vane type compressor. Teeth 19a for being driven are formed on one side edge of said control member 19, and the output gear of a step motor 20 as a driving means, is engaged with these teeth 19a. As the output of the step motor 20 is transmitted to the control member 19 directly and hysteresis is not generated discharge quantity can be controlled accurately.
