PURPOSE:To improve the abrasion resistance of a valve by applying Cr or Ni plating onto the part for which abrasion resistance is necessary such as the sheet part of the valve, shaft edge part of the valve shaft part, etc. and welding and padding Co-series alloy such as 'Stellite(R)' onto the plated layer. CONSTITUTION:A mushroom-shaped valve 10 is made of Ti-alloy, etc., and has a valve shaft part 1 and a valve bevel part 2, and used, for example, as air feeding and discharging valve for internal-combustion engine. In this case, 'Stellite(R)' (Co-based alloy) is welded and padded onto the sheet part 2a of the valve bevel part 2, and the 'Stellite(R)' 14 is welded and padded also onto the shaft edge part of the valve shaft part 1. The welded parts of the above- described 'Stellite(R)' parts 13 and 14 are shaved off, and Cr-plating or Ni- plating is applied onto the welded part, and the base material of the welded part is made of Cr or Ni plated layer 15 or 16, and further 'Stellite(R)' is welded onto the plated layer 15 or 16. Therefore, the adhesion performance of the 'Stellite(R)' parts 13 and 14 can be improved and the abrasion resistance of the valve can be improved.
