<p>The present invention relates to a process for washing articles made of cork, in particular cork stoppers and panels. The process is characterised by the following stages: 1. The articles are treated with an aqueous solution containing 4 to 15% by weight of hydrogen peroxide, a stabilising agent of the latter and an alkaline substance in a quantity such that the initial pH of the solution lies between 9.5 and 11.5; 2. The articles are washed with water; 3. The articles are treated with an aqueous solution of an acidic substance in a quantity such that the initial pH of the solution lies between 0 and 4; 4. Finally, the articles are dried.</p> |
