PURPOSE:To detect photographic image information by detecting frame image information of a film negative and frame image peripheral information which is added to a support couple for the film negative by an image sensor. CONSTITUTION:A controller 30 calculates the quantity of exposure with detection information from an image information detector 10 according to a specific exposure calculation expression and inputs it to an exposure control circuit 31 to control the quantity of dimming of a dimming filter 3, the quantity of light of a light source 4 and a black shutter 6 according to the quantity of exposure, thereby exposing photographic paper 7 to the frame image of the negative film 2. When a photograph which is not detected such as normal bar code information 203 is printed, transmitted light from the negative film which is loaded on a printing part and stationary is detected by a photosensor 8 the filter 3 is adjusted according to an image signal at every RGB of three primary colors and the black shutter 6 is opened to expose the photographic paper 7 to the determined quantity of exposure. Consequently, photographic image information is detected with the inexpensive and a simple constitution and photographic printing is performed effectively at a high speed.
