The evening device serves to even out pourable material and is mounted in a bunker 5 which can be filled from above and has an endless bottom belt 6. A device 8 for drawing off particles 9 in a metered fashion is situated at the outlet end of the bunker, the upper run of the floor belt 6 being moved towards the device 8 in the drawing-off direction 7. The evening device 10 is designed as a grid which is arranged above the floor belt 6 and is ladder-shaped, and carriers 13 are provided at equal intervals on the said grid, point downwards to the floor belt 6, are locked in the direction opposite the drawing-off direction 7, i.e. in the evening direction 14, by means of stops 12 and are freely movable in the direction opposite to the evening direction.
