The object of the invention is to increase the efficiency of an expansion turbine. The high-speed expansion turbine intended for helium cryo-installations with low capacity consists of the low-temperature part with gas distributor and of the shaft with working wheel, which shaft is mounted in axial gas sliding bearings (5) and in radial gas sliding bearings (4) which are connected together in the bearing plates (1, 2) connected rigidly to the housing (7) of the eddy current brake. The low-temperature part is fastened on the bearing plate (1) from the side of the working wheel with a flange (12) and a thin-walled bridge (13) made of a material with low heat conductivity. Situated in the low-temperature part is a chamber, into which on one side the line (16) for the gas supply opens.
