A holder (31) can be releasably fixed to the support (11) holds detection means and excitation means (53) for detecting and exciting vibrations of the vibratory body by means of a field through a partition (13f) of the support (11). The density of the fluid present in the chamber (3) can therefore be determined without electrical or other passages for transmitting energy or force between the vibratory body (23) and the detection and excitation means (53) being necessary.
