Method of installing bathtubs and shower trays

This method serves for installing bathtubs or shower trays instead of a fixedly installed bathtub or shower tray, which is connected on at least one edge side of the tub/tray to the wall of a building and is connected on at least the opposite edge side of the tub/tray to a cladding wall, the old tub/tray being separated and removed without destroying the cladding wall. This method provides for the clear width between the wall of the building and the cladding wall to be enlarged in the region of the height of the tub/tray edge by digging out masonry, and for the new tub/tray to be inserted by pivoting it in in such a way that the tub/tray edge on the building-wall side is brought almost into its end position and the tub/tray edge on the cladding-wall side is lowered from a raised position into its final location. The cutting to size of the tub/tray to be inserted, which per se already comprises damage to the new tub/tray, can thus be omitted. <IMAGE>
