The invention deals specifically with the problem of how light-metal hollow profiles (1), oxidised at the anode, can be connected to pins (2) of fittings (3) or the like with a sufficient degree of rigidity such that, on the one hand, screwing is not required and, on the other hand, the quality of the oxide layer is not impaired. In order to solve this problem, the invention proposes to provide the inner wall (4) of the hollow profile (1) with raised profilings (5) parallel to the longitudinal axis of the hollow profile, and to dimension the cross-section of the pin (2) such that it has clearance (8) with respect to the largest inner cross-section of the hollow profile (1), but is capable of plastically deforming the peak regions of the profilings (5) when driving the pin (2) into the hollow profile (1). In this manner, the play (8) is filled by displacement of material and a press connection is achieved which is of a quality nearing that of cold pressure welding. <IMAGE>
