Tear-open mechanism for filled refuse sacks - includes chute, supplying sacks to rotating tubular drum with sharp internal tapered teeth for ripping sacks open

The ripping mechanism is for filled sacks, e.g. of household refuse fed from a chute (6) into an inclined tubular duct. The duct is supported on pivoting bearing blocks with rollers. Inside the drum (5) are spaced tapered teeth for ripping the sacks open. The frame (1) is inclined on a horizontal base. The base has fixed supports which each pivotal support a bearing block. Support rollers (4) are fitted in pairs to the bearing blocks to support the drum. The chute is fitted at the inclined top whilst the low end includes a discharge (7). The ducting is built up of a number of cylindrical segments (8), which are movable w.r.t. each other by geared rims. The segments are motorremot driven. A number of sieves for discharge of grit sediment are arranged between a number of segments.
