An electrical slide component, such as a slide resistor for example, has an insulating base material (2) and a metal housing (5) which covers the top of the base material (2). A conductive mounting plate (8) is provided with snap-in feet (9) which are arranged on the underneath of the base material (2). The mounting plate (8) is electrically connected to the housing (5) via fastening parts (11) which extend downwards from the housing (5), through cutouts in the base material, and are bent around to form electrical contact with the mounting plate (8). Snap-in feet (9) extend downwards from the mounting plate (8) and make it possible for the component to be connected to the board (12) of a printed circuit, using snap-in installation, before the soldering process. When the snap-in feet (9) are soldered in an earthing manner on the board (12) of a printed circuit, the housing (5) is earthed by means of its electrical contact to the mounting plate (8) and in consequence screens the components in the interior of the electrical slide component. <IMAGE>
