A method for accounting for the amounts of money produced in automatic entertainment machines, in which a counter detecting the amounts of money produced is provided, the amount in each case produced being supplied to a computer to which the respective installation places of the automatic entertainment machines are input and which calculates the amount to be paid to the installer, is to be developed in such a manner that time-consuming note-taking by hand is eliminated and that the inputs of the office computer do not need to be changed. For this purpose, it is provided that on each of the automatic entertainment machines installed, a computer-readable code is arranged which enables the device to be identified and that a portable computer is used which is equipped with a code reader which identifies the respective device and, in the portable computer, allocates it to the installation place, the counter also being connected to the portable computer so that the amount to be paid out to the installer is verified by means of the portable computer.
