PURPOSE:To enable the preparation of a cake having a spiral pattern like a number of stacked ring-shaped cakes each composed of a thin string of cake pastry, by applying a rotary motion to the extruded cake pastry with a rotary rod rotating eccentrically in a nozzle. CONSTITUTION:A flowable cake pastry is extruded through a nozzle 1 containing a rotary rod 4 rotating eccentrically near the extrusion die 5 in the nozzle 1. The flow of the extruded cake pastry is imparted with rotary motion by this arrangement. The radius of the gyration motion of the cake pastry extruded from the die 5 is made larger downward, and a spiral pattern 7 of the cake pastry 6 is formed on the floor below the nozzle. A cake having a spiral pattern like a number of stacked ring-shaped cakes each composed of a thin string of cake pastry can be produced by this procedure.
