The invention relates to a material which is suitable for mouldings beneath the bonnet of motor vehicles, based on polyamide resin and containing a caproamide component and/or a hexamethyleneadipamide component as principal component and hydrocarbon groups having 6 to 22 carbon atoms as terminal groups, where (a) the number of hydrocarbon groups makes up from 5 to 100% of the total number of terminal groups of the polyamide and (b) the relative viscosity of the polyamide is from 2 to 6.
