The invention relates to a screen-wheel filter having a heated housing and a screen wheel which is rotatably mounted therein, is provided on its outer circumference with teeth and has screen segments arranged in an annular manner and a melt channel which is arranged eccentrically to the screen - wheel shaft and is aligned with the screen segments, and also a drive for the screen wheel, the drive consisting of a push rod which acts essentially tangentially on the outer circumference of the screen wheel, engages in outwardly open cogs which are arranged on the outer circumference of the screen wheel and whose leading flank is aligned essentially tangentially to the screen-wheel shaft and whose pressure flank is aligned essentially radially thereto.
