At least one first elastic suction cup (3) is mounted in a depression of a strip-shaped intermediate layer for attachment to an outer flat glass sheet of a pile of flat glass sheets. The first suction cup projects in the unstressed state with its open side beyond the surfaces of the intermediate layer adjoining the depression (10), but terminates flush with these surfaces in the state in which it is pressed onto the flat glass sheet. In order to simplify production and - in the case of multiple use of the intermediate layer - its reconstitution, the first suction cup (3) is a constituent of an elastic double sucker (1) whose second elastic suction cup (4) is moulded onto the first suction cup without fluid-conducting communication as an extension of said first suction cup and with an inverted open surface. In the unstressed state of both suction cups (3, 4), the volume of the second suction cup (4) is preferably twice the volume of the first suction cup (3). The second suction cup (4) is pressed onto a non-porous adhesion point in the depression (10) of the intermediate layer (5). <IMAGE>
