Novel oxadiazolyl imidazobenzsodiazepine derivatives having the formula
<CHEM>
wherein R<3> has the formula
<CHEM>
wherein R sec is hydrogen, C1-6-alkyl, C1-6-alkoxymethyl or C3-6-cycloalkyl;
R<4> is hydrogen;
R<5> is C1-6-alkyl or R<4> and R<5> together form a 2-4 membered alkylene chain; and
R<A> is 1-6-alkyl, C1-6-alkoxy or C1-3-trifluoroalkyl.
<??>The compounds are suitable for use in psychopharmaceutical preparations as anticonvulsants, anxiolytics, hypnotics and nootropics.
