METHOD FOR PREVENTING ADHESION OF SILICA SCALE AND RELEASING SAME

PURPOSE:To prevent the adhesion of silica scale, by using the surface of a solid having possibility receiving the adhesion of silica scale as a cathode and setting an opposed electrode to an anode to flow an electrolytic current between both electrodes. CONSTITUTION:The surface of a solid having possibility receiving the adhesion of silica scale or having silica scale already adhered thereto is used as a cathode and the proper opposed electrode placed in the aqueous solution containing a silica component contacted with the surface of the solid is set to an anode and an electrolytic current is flowed between both electrodes. By this method, pH value of the aqueous solution in the vicinity of the surface of the solid is raised to make it possible to prevent the adhesion of silica scale.
