PURPOSE:To partially restrict the dame of an anvil, by providing a pair of specific anvils and the gaskets interposed between a cylinder and the anvils and demarcating a pressure chamber by a pair of the anvils and the gaskets. CONSTITUTION:For example, when a diamond is synthesized, a predetermined substance 22 to be compressed is received in a pressure chamber 20 and extremely large force is acted to anvils 12, 14 from above and below. By this method, gaskets 16, 18 are compressed to generate ultra-high pressure in the pressure chamber 20 and diamond is synthesized by predetermined reaction. Even if either one of the members of the anvil, for example, the first member 12a is broken, because the first member 12a and the second member 12b are only connected by soldering, the crack of the first member 12a is not transmitted to the second member 12b and damage can be limited only to the first member 12a. |
