PURPOSE:To obtain a solar pond having a high thermal efficiency, by a system wherein a collector absorbing only solar rays in a longer wavelength band while transmitting solar rays in a shorter wavelength band is provided in an upper mixing layer of a solar pond. CONSTITUTION:Vacuum pipe type collectors 7 have plates capable of absorbing only solar rays in a longer wavelength band while transmitting solar rays in a shorter wavelength band, as absorbing plates. Therefore, the collectors 7 absorbs energy of solar rays in the longer wavelength band, hot water thus obtained is fed into a heat-accumulating layer 3 through a pipe 6, and is then fed again into the collectors 7 through a pump 5. Solar rays with short wavelength are transmitted through the collectors, are absorbed by the layer 3, and heat is accumulated. When the collectors 7 are floated on the surface of the pond 10, the contact area of saline water at the surface and the atmosphere is reduced, whereby the loss of heat into the atmosphere due to evaporation and convection can be reduced. Accordingly, the total thermal efficiency of the solar pond can be enhanced. |
